Why Visit National Park?
National Park's primary visitor destination is Red Bank Battlefield Park, the site of Fort Mercer and the 1777 Battle of Red Bank. The Gloucester County park combines Revolutionary War history with open riverfront space, walking paths, picnic areas, playground facilities and Delaware River views.
Red Bank Battlefield & Whitall House
The county park preserves Fort Mercer earthworks and battlefield history. Park amenities include walking areas, picnic tables, pavilions, grills, playground space, restrooms, parking and interpretive programming. The grounds are generally open daily from sunrise to sunset, with county holiday exceptions.
The 1748 house is interpreted as part of the battlefield story. House and seasonal program hours vary, so check Gloucester County's current schedule before planning a tour.

Visitor parking is available at Red Bank Battlefield Park. Follow posted park and event instructions, especially during programs or commemorations.

The park offers picnic and recreation facilities. Pavilion use and organized activities may require advance arrangements with Gloucester County.

The park overlooks the Delaware River opposite Philadelphia, making the historic site a pleasant destination for a walk, picnic or sunset view.
